Arthritis

Arthritis, often considered a disease of aging, affects millions of older Americans.  Almost everyone over the age of 50 will develop arthritis to some degree.  Ostheoarthritis, the most common type of arthritis affecting older adults, occurs when a joint begines to wear out through use or injury.  The joint becomes inflamed.  In some people, this may cause only occasional mild stiffness or pain.  In others, pain may be quite severe and disabling.

Osteoarthritis of the spine may be a sign that it is out of alignment or balance.  Injury, poor posture, overuse, or other stresses to the body can cause the vertebrae to move out of place, and spinal joints to lose their normal position.  This can start a degenerative chain reaction called the vertiebral subluxation complex.  Early and effective treatment can provide relief and halt the worsening of this condition.
